Dr. H.J. Schäfers
Dr. H.J. Schäfers has headed the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at Homburg, University of Saarland, Germany from 1995 to 2024.
His main contribution has been the development and standardization of surgical techniques for aortic valve repair, being a pioneer in this field and collaborating in the training of surgeons worldwide.
He has the greatest personal experience in these techniques, with more than 3,000 cases performed and a scientific production of more than 500 publications in the main medical journals.He is also one of the leading experts in Ross Technique and thoracoabdominal aneurysm surgery
